What a real claim looks like
A pipe lets go behind the kitchen wall while you're at work on a Thursday.
5:20 pm
You find it
Water across the floor and a stain climbing the drywall. You open the app in the kitchen.
5:24 pm
You film the damage
A slow pan of the room and the wall. The app tells you to shut the stopcock first.
5:31 pm
Emergency cash released
Funds for a same-night plumber hit your account before the assessment is finished.
Next morning
A human takes over
Structural claims get a real assessor. Yours is booked overnight and named in the app.
An illustrative walkthrough written for this build. Timings are not a service guarantee, and complex claims still go to a person.
Homeowners questions, answered
How much coverage do I actually need on the structure?
Enough to rebuild the house, which is not the same as what you paid for it and not the same as what it would sell for. Land value is a large part of a sale price and land doesn't burn down. We estimate the rebuild cost for you and you can override it.
Does this cover flooding?
No, and no standard homeowners policy anywhere does. Flood is its own product. If you're in or near a flood zone, treat it as a genuine second purchase rather than an upsell.
What if I work from home?
Your laptop and desk are covered as ordinary belongings. Business inventory, client visits, and professional liability are not — if people come to your house for work, tell us and we'll sort out the right endorsement.
Is my home office equipment covered?
Up to the standard belongings limit. If you've got serious kit — a studio, a workshop, a server rack — put it on the valuables rider so it isn't capped at the general limit.
Do I have to buy this through my mortgage lender?
No. Lenders require you to have homeowners insurance, but they don't get to pick the insurer. You can switch to Zestly mid-term and we'll notify your lender for you.
